Stone
Sculptor Joseph Fee divides his time between Taos and New York
City. By using both Taos and New York as sources of sculptural
inspiration, artist Joseph Fee has managed to create art pieces
that bridge two very different worlds and mentalities.
As a Sculptor, Joseph Fee has managed to accomplish this bridge
both in the subject of his art work as well as the medium.
Many of Joseph Fee's stone sculptures were carved from stone found
in excavation sites in New York while other pieces come from parts
of Mexico and New Mexico.
What other stone artist has created work from Roosevelt Island
Bedrock? Penn Station? The World Trade Center? Conde
Nas? 42nd street? Few...or possibly none. Joseph
Fee sees his work as a process of communication between the stone
and the sculptor. Thus he has coined his work and his process
as 'StoneSpeaking'.
